PRESS: Watchdog said to create national anti-DDoS system
MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service will create a national system of protection of local resources against foreign DDoS attacks, Forbes reported on Monday quoting sources in the watchdog.
The regulator will upgrade the equipment used to fulfil the law on the sovereign Internet and create on its base a federal system of protection against DDoS attacks.
The idea emerged after the country’s companies had failed to cope with massive hacker attacks after the start of the special operation in Ukraine.
A source from an information security firm told Forbes that the DPI equipment exploited for the law on the sovereign Internet already has functions of protection against DDoS attacks. But it does not contain enough samples of attacks for a high-quality shield.
